Jumby Bay

Jumby Bay is an exclusive private island off the coast of the mainland Antigua with 40 Resort Suites, 14 Private Villas, and 21 Private Residences (also known as Estate Homes).. It is managed by the Oetker Collection, which has completely  refurbished it.

What’s not to love about a miniature Caribbean Island sitting in a turquoise sea just 15 minutes from the airport off the north coast of Antigua? A five-minute drive from arrivals takes you to the Jumby Island jetty, where a catamaran delivers you in about seven minutes straight to the glorious west-facing beach of Jumby Bay. You can cycle around the 300 acres of this lush, palm-tree strewn, car-free island in less than half an hour.

The pristine resort buildings have a contemporary laid-back tropical style.

Service is slick, dining is diverse and entertainment options are endless: Book yourself a tennis lesson, join a pre-breakfast yoga class, head around the island on a kayak tour, whizz across the bay tubing or water skiing, try to balance on a paddleboard or head across to Antigua on the luxury Yennecott yacht for some snorkelling and an on-board lunch. Opt for rum tasting at the old sugar mill or a therapeutic massage in the spa. There’s also a lap pool, infinity pool and fitness centre. Golf buggies are freely available to transport you across the island.

Families are well catered for. Camp Jumby entertains children aged three to 11 with a varied programme of activities while Jumby Explorers gets young people out exploring the wildlife and involved in the conservation of the Hawksbill turtles that nest on Pasture Beach.

The food here is top-notch, whether you opt for private dining on the beach under a fairy-light strewn gazebo, a formal meal at the Estate House or buffet lunch at the Veranda. Lunchtime beach shack barbecue delivers deliciously decadent lobsters in minutes. Guests are also offered an option of dining by setting up tables at the farm or on the beach for a different atmosphere.
